Best of Wires

Artist Statement
This batch consists of my best and most cohesive images from my project on wires. These images are the most cohesive because they are all images of wires or wire components against the sky. All of these images are square-shaped and consist of black or darker colored wires of varying shades and thicknesses against a light or white sky. In each frame, there are many different wires that create complex shapes and patterns. To put this series together, I started with my final images that I posted for each draft and then began eliminating non-cohesive images like ones with only a few wires or photos with telephone poles in them. Taking these steps lead me to a strong final batch of twenty very cohesive images of wires.

Wires - 4.0

Artist Statement
For my final batch of photos of wires, I created more uniformity and cohesiveness in some areas while also using more variety in some areas. To create more cohesive photos, I only took images of wires and wire components and not of any supports or telephone poles. I also created more interesting photos with more variety by concentrating on wire thickness and interesting shapes and figures. Doing these things create more interesting shapes and divisions of space.

Wires - Series 3.0

Artist Statement
For this batch, I continued taking pictures of wires, but I tried some new things to improve the quality of the images. While taking images, I focused on smaller areas instead of large portions of wires. Doing this also allowed me to capture many more interesting and unique formations and shapes of wires. I also attempted to vary the patterns of wires by capturing some curved wires, wires of different thicknesses and going in different directions. Additionally, I narrowed my subjects down to only poles and wires without any plants or tree branches. Overall, my goal was to make more interesting images that were also more cohesive.
